Robin (spoilers)As a young child, Robin lived with her adoptive parents who pretty much treated her like a servant. This was due to her Devil Fruit power, the Hana Hana no Mi, which made Robin an outcast or monster of sorts. The 'Bloom Bloom' Fruit allowed Robin to bloom her body parts from pretty much anywhere and would later on make her a formidable foe and ally. Her only friends on the island of Ohara were Professor Clover and the archaeologists in the Tree of Knowledge. This is where Nico Robin first learned about the Poneglyphs and where she became an official archaeologist at the young age of eight. However, the World Government did not want anyone discovering the Poneglyphs or their secrets, so they used a Jaguar D. Saul who taught her not only how to laugh without fear, but also a little bit about The Will of D. Secondly, she finally was reunited with her mother, Nico Olivia, who stayed behind to throw the Tree of Knowledge books into the ocean so they wouldn't burn in the Buster Call. Unfortunately, both Saul and Olivia perished in the Buster Call. Robin would be saved by Aokiji, who wasn't entirely happy with the idea of destroying Ohara. Aokiji would keep his eye on Robin for the next twenty years. Robin traveled in search of the Poneglyphs for many years, becoming more powerful over time. Eventually this lead her to become the right hand woman for CP9 and forced to abandon her nakama. If she didn't help the World Government, her friends would be killed. Robin was taken to Eines Lobby in order to help with the Pluton plans for the ultimate warship, but the Strawhats arrived to rescue her. Here Robin revealed her fears of being abandoned by them; she would rather die than watch them turn their backs on her. However, Luffy convinced her that there was no way that was going to happen; they were there to save her and all that Robin had to do was say that she wanted to live. After a long fight between the Strawhats and CP9, Robin was brought back along with Franky. Eines Lobby was practically destroyed, and all of the Strawhat Pirates had bounties for their actions against the World Government. Robin would be the one who would 'convince' Franky to join their crew by very unorthodox means.

Franky (spoilers)Franky's parents were pirates, but they thought he was so annoying that they threw him overboard. Luckily, he was a strong swimmer and made it to Water 7 where the shipwright Tom found him building contraptions out of scrap. Tom would teach him the art of building ships, even though Franky would continue to concentrate on battle ships that could destroy. During this upbringing at Tom's Workers, Franky would have a rivalry with co-worker Iceburg, resulting in more than a few fights. It was later revealed that Tom was the man who built the pirate king--Gold Roger--his ship that conquered the world. The World Government, therefore, had a vendetta against Tom and arrested him when Franky was twelve. The judge let Tom off the hook for ten years, however, so he could construct a sea train--the Puffing Tom--that would link the bankrupt Water 7 with other islands and restore commerce and peace. Tom, Iceburg and Franky were successful; it took fourteen years to perfect the train and the rails. The Marines were about to pardon Tom as a way of thanks when CP9's Spandam framed the shipwright. Spandam used Franky's old miniature battle ships to attack the Marine and the harbor at Water 7, framing Tom and his workers. When Puffing Tom was taking the shipwright away to Eines Lobby for execution, Franky stood on the tracks and attempted to stop it. He failed. Franky's body was mangled so badly that he would have died if he hadn't been washed near an abandoned ship. Franky used his own shipwright skills to transform his body into a cyborg with many different functions and abilities. Four years later he would return to Water 7, only to find that Iceburg was the new governor. In a tearful reunion, Iceburg would entrust Franky with the blueprints to the battleship Pluton. By the time the Strawhats arrived at Water 7, Franky was an established ship scavenger with his own gang. The Franky Family severely injured Usopp during a mugging and in turn were beaten down by Luffy, Zoro, Sanji and Chopper. Franky was absent during the battle, and when he returned to the scene he would swear revenge on the Strawhats. However, this revenge would be cut short as he was kidnapped by CP9 who discovered that he possessed the Pluton blueprints. He was taken to Eines Lobby where he would eventually destroy the blueprints and ally with the Strawhats against the World Government to help save Nico Robin. After returning victoriously from Eines Lobby, Franky dedicated himself to building a new ship for the Strawhats since the Going Merry had been destroyed bit by bit throughout the Grand Line. The new ship--Thousand Sunny--was Franky's dream, but Iceburg states that his dream also required Franky sailing on it. He was reluctant to leave Water 7, even though his gang insisted he go because he had a new 44 million bounty. Nico Robin was able to 'convince' Franky to leave with the Strawhats, however, and he has been with them ever since.
♥ Franky is 34 years old, making him the oldest Strawhat ♥ He is the tallest Strawhat, well over 6 feet ♥ His real name is 'Cutty Flam' but Iceburg thought it was too strange and dubbed him 'Franky' ♥ His birthday is March 9th ♥ Franky's current bounty is 44 million, the fifth highest in the crew ♥ Franky gets his cyborg energy from cola; his hair changes style if he drinks something other than cola. For example, if he drinks vegetable juice, his hair looks like an onion Frobin (spoilers)The term 'Frobin' refers to the romantic relationship between Robin and Franky and comes from combining both of their names together! Why Frobin, you ask? Well, I'm not entirely sure myself. There are no 'official' romantic pairings in One Piece besides Usopp's parents, so whenever we OP lovers talk about that sort of thing it's really just a hunch. They do have an undeniable connection, but as to how far that goes it's anyone's guess. When Franky was still young, he was warned by Tom about a young Nico Robin. She was the only person left who could read the language to decipher the Pluton blueprints--that made Robin a very dangerous woman. Even Iceburg was afraid of her and initially thought the world would be better off if she was dead. Franky, however, always wanted the blueprints deciphered. After all, he loved making battleships, so why should this one be any different? As a result, I don't think he feared Robin quite as much as Iceburg did. Robin and Franky were both captured in Eines Lobby together, and Franky--without even knowing her for more than a few hours--told her that he would dedicate his abilities to reuniting her with the Strawhats. Robin seemed just as shocked by this; she isn't exactly used to people giving a damn about her, especially not strangers. And, let's not forget, it was Robin who convinced Franky to join her nakama after all other methods failed. Using her devil fruit abilities, she nearly castrated Franky and sent him into a fit of tears. Best. Chapter. EVER. Recently, in Thriller Park, they've been working together to save Luffy. Even without having fought together before (Robin didn't do much fighting in Eines Lobby since she was in handcuffs) they seem to use perfect teamwork and their abilities compliment one another much like Zoro and Sanji during the Davy Back fights. Also, they're both the oldest crewmembers. Franky is in his early thirties, Robin is in her late twenties, and the rest of the crew are basically teenagers. They have a few more years, and a few more things to chat about, it would seem. Both have tragic pasts where the World Government took away the people who they cared for the most. In any case, we'll all have to keep reading to find out what happens between the shipwright and the archaeologist...
"I'm Not Crying."This site was made by Kris :B The name of this site comes from the emotions of both Franky and Robin. One is easily moved to tears, the other is hard pressed to ever show any emotion. "I'm not crying!" is something Franky usually shouts when he is, in fact, crying at something emotional. Robin, in turn, spilled so many tears as a child that it seems like she barely has any left as an adult... The header and background graphics on this site were taken from Colorfilter.Net.
